Travis Nicholson Named Assistant Director Of UAM Writing Center

MONTICELLO— Travis Nicholson, a visiting instructor of English, has been appointed assistant director of the Center for Writing and Communication at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

Nicholson is a 2010 UAM graduate with a bachelor of arts degree in English and creative writing. He holds a master of arts in creative writing with an emphasis in fiction and screenwriting from Wilkes (Pa.) University and a master of fine arts in creative writing with an emphasis in online publishing, also from Wilkes University.

Nicholson has taught a variety of writing courses at UAM for the last four years and is the faculty sponsor for the Creative Arts Society. He currently serves as managing editor of River and South Review and associate editor of Poets’ Quarterly. He is a member of the Arkansas Council of Teachers of English and Language Arts, Alpha Chi national honor society, the Association of Writers and Writing Programs, the Modern Language Association, and the National Council of Teachers of English.
