MONTICELLO, AR — The University of Arkansas at Monticello will host its second Kids’ University July 20-23, according to Memory Dickson, coordinator of community education. The half-day summer enrichment program is designed for students who will enter grades 1-6 next fall.

“The focus of Kids’ University is to cultivate new interests, expand knowledge, and spark imagination and creativity while providing a non-graded environment for personal growth and development,” said Dickson. “We hope to enhance the love and adventure of learning while developing well rounded children who will seek college educations in their futures.”

Students will select three classes from a wide variety of topics including art, science, health and nutrition, creative writing, fitness, and Latin American language, customs and culture.

A registration form must be completed and returned to UAM’s Department of Community Education for each child by Thursday, July 2. The tuition fee of $75 includes a t-shirt and all supplies, unless specifically stated in the course description. Space in the program will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis with a paid and completed registration form. Since space is limited, early registration is encouraged.
