MONTICELLO- The University of Arkansas-Monticello’s Wellness Fair was held Wednesday, March 18 in the University Center Green Room. Because this year’s wellness fair theme was Avenge Your Health, many workers and booths were covered in Avenger apparel. There were various super hero sightings.

After entering the wellness fair, students received free goody bags brimming with wellness items such as shampoos and razors. The students also received a yellow form, which they carried to various booths in order to collect signatures then be entered in a drawing for various prizes.

Taylor Norris, a senior Business Marketing major said the event was a great way for students to get involved.

“I enjoyed the wellness fair. Seeing everyone come together for one cause is fun! Everyone that came walked out with a bag full of free stuff! Hopefully everyone got something they can use.”

Abel Yeakel, a sophomore Nursing major at said, “The wellness fair was beneficial to me because it had a lot of free information about how to keep myself healthy. One booth that was particularly interesting to me was the smoking booth. It showed me actually how bad the damage I have done to myself. They also offered free help to stop smoking, which is awesome, too. The oxygen bar was also one of the neatest things and while I got to smell awesome scents they handed me a pamphlet that showed all the cool health facts relating to oxygen.”

Yeakel and Norris are two of many students that gathered knowledge from the UAM Wellness Fair.
