MONTICELLO — Dustin North of Stuttgart, a senior plant and soil science major at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, is the Arkansas recipient of the 2015 Tri-State Soybean Forum Scholarship.

The Tri-State Soybean Forum Scholarship Program was established to assist students in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi who are pursuing careers in the agricultural field with an interest in soybean crop production and protection.

North attended Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas prior to enrolling at UAM. For the past three years, he has worked summers at the Rice Research & Extension Center in Stuttgart. North is a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society and is scheduled to graduate in May with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture. He plans to enter graduate school with a focus on plant breeding and genetics.
