Goforth Named GAC Player Of The Week

RUSSELLVILLE – University of Arkansas-Monticello’s junior women’s basketball player Jordan Goforth has been named the Great American Conference Player of the Week after recording a pair of 24-point performances in winning efforts.

Goforth moved into 15th place on the UAM women’s basketball all-time scoring chart (1,119) over the past week with 24 points in each of the Blossoms’ home victories over Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State.

tv Sports reflection 10dbThe Plano, Texas native started the week making 9-of-17 field goal attempts and 5-of-5 free throws in a 73-52 win over Ouachita Baptist Thursday. She also had five rebounds in that game.

Two days later, Goforth went 8-for-17 from the field, including the game winning shot with two seconds remaining to give the Blossoms a 43-42 victory over Henderson.

She was 6-for-8 on foul shots in the win over HSU, and also grabbed nine rebounds.

Overall this season, Goforth leads UAM and ranks third in the GAC with an average of 19.6 points per game.
