MONTICELLO – The University of Arkansas-Monticello’s softball team will host a “Pink-Out” game this Saturday, October 18 in a scrimmage against Three Rivers College.

tv Sports reflection 10dbThe Blossoms, in conjunction with the Susan G. Komen breast cancer awareness program, will be selling commemorative T-shirts and accepting donations as a part of October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All proceeds will benefit the Komen foundation.

“We have 10 players on our team that have someone in their immediate family affected by the disease,” said head softball coach Alvy Early. “Some deceased, some survivors… We are very fortunate to be able to have this Pink-Out game, and we encourage everyone to get involved in some way.”

Saturday’s game gets underway at noon at Blossoms Field on the UAM campus. The Blossoms will be wearing pink uniforms and encourage all fans to wear pink clothing as well. Saturday’s game is the last scrimmage of the fall for the Blossoms.
