Cotton Blossoms Records 5th Sweep Of The Season

GOODWELL, Okla.– The University of Arkansas-Monticello’s volleyball team recorded its fifth three-set victory of the season Thursday night on the road in a sweep over Oklahoma Panhandle Sports reflection 10db

The Blossoms (7-6) took an early lead with a dominating performance in a 25-12 opening set victory. UAM totaled 14 kills and only one error on 23 swings in the frame for a .565 percentage. The second set featured 13 kills and threeerrors on 31 swings for a .323 percentage and a 25-17 win. UAM sealed the match victory with a 25-18 win in the third set.

Overall as a team, UAM totaled 38 kills and committed a season-low six errors on 91 attempts for a .352 percentage, theBlossoms’ second-highest percentage of the season.

On the other side of the net, OPSU (0-14) hit .072 with 25 kills and 18 errors on 97 attempts.

Junior Sydni Schulz accounted for nine points in the win with eight kills and only one error on 16 attempts for a .438 percentage. She also had one service ace and seven digs. Junior Bianca Brown, freshman Aspen Luna and senior Kedra Johnson all chipped in with five kills each.

Schulz and junior Lani Kaiwi paced the back row with seven digs each. Junior Kaila Kikugawa added 21 assists and five digs in the win.

Shaina Eddings led OPSU with nine kills. Dejiana Rubio added five.

The Blossoms continue their four-match road swing on Friday in Alva, Oklahoma for a Great American Conference contest against Northwestern Oklahoma State. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
