Magnusson, Smith Lead Men’s Golf At Derrall Foreman Invitational

CLEVELAND, Miss. – University of Arkansas-Monticello’s men’s golfers Hunter Smith and Ari Magnusson finished just one stroke apart to lead the tv Sports reflection 10dbWeevils to a fifth place finish out of seven teams at the Derrall Foreman Invitational hosted by Delta State University.

Magnusson posted scores of 70, 68 and 74 for a seventh place finish out of 40 participants. Smith had scores of 68, 72 and 73 to finish in a tie for eight place. Theodor Karlsson followed Smith by just two total strokes for a 15thplace finish (74, 70, 71).

Other UAM participants included Bryan Witmer in 28th (79, 75, 73) and Nathan Oakes in 36th (80, 76, 81). Overall as a team, UAM posted a three-round total of 867, just seven strokes behind Delta State’s second squad. DSU’s first squad was the top finishing team at 825.

Delta State’s Reed Lindsey and Chad Cupples took the first two spots with overall scores of 200 and 201.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College finished second at 835 and CentralAlabama finished third at 852.
