Smith Leads UAM At ULM Invitational

CALHOUN, La. – Sophomore Hunter Smith finished in a tie for 18th place out over 70 participants at the ULM Wallace Jones tv Sports reflection 10dbInvitational held this past Monday and Tuesday at the Southern Pines Golf Club.

As a team, the University of Arkansas-Monticello’s men finished in 12th place out of 14 teams with a three-round total of 936. Host Louisiana-Monroe won the team crown with a team score of 870.

Smith posted scores of 77, 74 and 75 for a total of 226, just five strokes away from reaching the top five. ULM’s Velten Meyer finished first individually at five-under par with a three-round score of 211.

Additionally for UAM, sophomore Theodor Karlsson finished tied for 43rd at 236, freshman Bryan Witmer tied for 51st at 239, sophomore Billie Trawick tied for 53rd at 240 and sophomore Ari Magnusson finished in 58th at 243.

The UAM men’s and women’s golf teams are set to conclude the 2013-14 season April 12-15 at the GAC Championships to be played once again at the Hot Springs (Ark.) Country Club.
