Diamond Weevils Ranked For 8th Straight Week

MONTICELLO – The University of Arkansas-Monticello’s baseball team has been included in at least one of the four NCAA Division II national rankings outlets for eight consecutive weeks with a No. 23 spot in this week’s College Baseball Lineup Top 30.

   The Weevils (24-10, 14-7 Great American Conference) have won their last seven games, including back-to-back GAC series sweeps over Harding and East Central.

   College Baseball Lineup has had UAM in its top 30 in all of the last eight national rankings releases, including vaulting as high as No. 12 on March 2. UAM reached as high as No. 11 in the D2BaseballNews.com Top 30, also on March 2, after posting a 14-4 record in the first month of the season.

   Below is the national ranking breakdown for the Weevils so far this season. UAM is set to face off against Delta State Wednesday in Cleveland, Miss. DSU is ranked as high as No. 13 this week, making the Statesmen the eighth ranked team UAM has faced this season. UAM is 9-5 against nationally ranked opponents this season. Wednesday’s first pitch is set for 4 p.m. at Boo Ferris Field.
