Blossoms Swept By Southeastern

tv Sports reflection 10dbDURANT, Okla. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team concluded its weekend trip to Oklahoma with a three-set loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday. Final game scores were 25-18, 25-17 and 25-15.

   As a team, UAM (11-12, 2-6 Great American Conference) hit .018 with 25 kills and 23 errors on 113 attempts. Southeastern (10-11, 4-3 GAC) finished the match at .204 with 40 kills and 17 errors on 113 attempts.

   Senior Tori Bozzo led the Blossoms with eight kills and just two errors on 28 attempts for a .214 individual percentage. Senior Holly Schweigert and junior Gabriella Jandotti each added six kills in the loss.

   Defensively, senior Tusalava Kuaea paced UAM with eight digs. Junior Jessica Cuba had seven and junior Frankie Zaragoza added six. Senior Amy Bazemore aided the offensive attack with a team-high 14 assists.

   Ariel Sanders led the Savage Storm with 11 kills on 24 attempts.

   The Blossoms return to the state of Arkansas for the remainder of the regular season, starting with a trip to Searcy this upcoming Tuesday to face off against GAC leader Harding. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside the RhodesField House.
