Women’s Golf Places Two In Top 10 At Mulerider Classic

 tv Sports reflection 10dbEL DORADO – Sophomore Pamela Quiatchon finished sixth and freshman Lauren Johnson finished 10th to lead the University of Arkansas at Monticello women’s golf team to a third place finish at the season-opening Mulerider Fall Classic played at Mystic Creek Golf Club.

   Quiatchon turned in scores of 92 and 90 for a two-round total of 182, just three strokes behind fifth place finisher Kirsten Pike of Dallas Baptist University. Johnson had scores of 96 and 90 to finish just one stroke back of eighth place finishers Amanda Levin and Nicole Vallandingham, both of host Southern Arkansas.

   UAM’s Sammy Rodriguez followed in 12th place with a two-round total of 205, Linda Williams finished 14th at 210 and Rachel Bedenbaugh finished 18th at 246.

   As a team, UAM totaled a two-round score of 783, just one stroke behind runner-up Southern Arkansas. Dallas Baptist won the team crown at 666, led by individual medalist Mercedes Rios with scores of 81 and 82.

   Ouachita Baptist rounded out the field at 860.

   The Blossoms are back in action Sept. 27-28 at the Lady Reddie Invitational at Degray State Park Golf Course.
