UAM Volleyball Heads To Florida For Season Opener

tv Sports reflection 10dbMONTICELLO – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team opens the 2013 season this weekend in Pensacola, Fla. with four matches in the University of West Florida Opening Weekend Tournament.

   The Cotton Blossoms begin the season this Friday, Sept. 6 at 9 a.m. against Albany State, followed by a 4:30 p.m. match on Friday against Missouri S&T. On Saturday, Sept. 7, the Blossoms wrap up play in the tournament against Florida Tech at 9 a.m. and McKendree at 4:30 p.m.

   UAM returns four starters and seven letter winners from the 2012 team that finished 11-24 overall and seventh in the Great American Conference. The Blossoms were picked to finish ninth in the 2013 season in the preseason coaches poll released in August.
