Foliate Oak Cuts Print Version

tv_News 10dbMONTICELLO-The Foliate Oak Literary Magazine is an online magazine ran by students attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello and a faculty adviser. According to Travis Nicholson, the magazine has been apart of the University of Arkansas at Monticello for about thirty years. The student editors for the Fall 2013 semester are: Amber Avery, Jimekia Lambert, Magan Smith, Ryan Spurlock and Shane Curry.

   The faculty adviser is Diane Payne who is also the MFA (Graduate program for the Arts and Humanities program) director.

   The Foliate Oak Literary Magazine’s purpose, according to the Facebook fan page and the Foliate Oak Literary Magazine website, is to publish the work of unkown authors. They accept works such as: poetry, creative writing, fiction, non-fiction, art work and photography.

   Payne informed students of the magazine’s decision to dispose of annual print due to the heavy work load required. She stated that the only version of the magazine will be the online version; however, this could change later.

   The editors are all motivated and dedicated to finding talented materials to feature in there magazine. Submissions are available from Aug. 1- April 4. The Foliate Oak Magazine is also in need of art work and photographs; therefore, anyone who has either can submit their work to the Foliate Oak website to be viewed by the editors.
