Tutors, Van Drivers Needed For Upward Bound Pre-College Program

tv_buzzworthy 10dbMONTICELLO – The Upward Bound Pre-College Program needs tutors and van drivers to work during its bi-weekly Wednesday night sessions beginning Sept. 25.

   Tutors will work from 5 p.m.-8 p.m., and all applicants must be:

   ·         classified as a Sophomore with at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA

   ·         have a 3.0 GPA in the areas that you wish to tutor

   ·         be available to attend a mandatory training session prior to the start date

   ·         be able to tutor in the core subjects including, but not limited to Spanish, physical science, biology, chemistry, English, world history, algebraic connections, algebra I, geometry, algebra II, pre cal/trig, college algebra and statistics.

   Driver applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a clean driving record. Drivers must be able to pick up the van at Enterprise by 2 p,m., pick students up from school, drop them off at the Memorial Classroom Building,  then return at 7:45 p.m. to take the students home.

   Per University of Arkansas Board of Trustees Resolution and UAM Operating Procedure 297.1 regarding camps/programs which involve minor-aged children at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, all personnel involved in the care and supervision of minors at such camps or programs are required to undergo a criminal background check (including registered sex offender check).
