22 Student-Athletes Earn Academic Achievement Awards

tv Sports reflection 10dbCLEVELAND, Ohio — The Division 2 Athletic Directors Association announced the 2012-13 recipients of the D2ADA Academic Achievement Awards on Wednesday, Aug. 21 with 22 student-athletes from the University of Arkansas at Monticello making the list.

   In order for a student-athlete to receive a D2ADA academic achievement award, the athletic director of the Division 2 institution must be a current member of the organization, and the student-athlete must posses a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 higher, must have attended their current institution for a minimum of two years and must have been an active member of their respective team during the 2012-13 season.

   A record number of institutions (169) and student-athletes (6,801) are being recognized for the 2012-13 Academic Achievement Awards for the 2012-13 cycle.

   “These young men and women are true student-athletes,” said UAM Athletic Director Chris Ratcliff. “We are very proud of their accomplishments and their hard work both on and off the field.”
