tv_News 10dbMONTICELLO – The University of Arkansas at Monticello (www.uamont.edu/jobs) is seeking applicants for two full-time, nine-month faculty positions of instructor of Mathematics.  UAM, one of eleven campuses of the University of Arkansas System, is located in southeastern Arkansas in the beautiful timberlands, rich in outdoor recreation activities and approximately 100 miles south of Little Rock.  UAM is a comprehensive, residential and commuter, undergraduate institution also offering selected masters degree programs.

   Mathematics is part of the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences which offers baccalaureate degrees in Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Natural Science.  The school also offers pre-professional programs such as pre-medicine, pre-pharmacy and the allied health sciences.  The School provides support courses for students majoring in Forestry, Nursing, Education and Agriculture, as well as the general education curriculum.

   Responsibilities: Duties include teaching fifteen (15) hours per term, predominantly in freshman level and remedial courses.  Other mathematics courses and math education courses may also be included.  The position requires academic advising and the willingness to serve on University committees.

   Qualifications:  Candidates for the Instructor of Mathematics position must have a master’s degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education.  Significant course work beyond the master’s level will be given preference for this appointment.

   Salary:  Commensurate with qualifications including excellent fringe benefits.
