tv_News 10dbMONTICELLO-Roscoe’s, the new restaurant in town, is serving up good ole’ southern food.

Roscoe’s features fried chicken, bar-b-que and other southern classics. Roscoe’s opens its doors at 10 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m every day of the week.

It’s located on Hwy 278 across from Ray’s where the old Kentucky Fried Chicken existed. The main dishes are affordable, but the sides that come with them can make the meal a little more expensive than desired. However, Roscoe’s offers a discount for every University of Arkansas-Monticello student with a valid ID.

Sophomore Communication major Tanner Hill said, “Roscoe’s has some good food, and it’s awesome how they have the UAM discount, so it’s not as expensive.”

With the student discount, each full meal cost between 7-9 dollars.

Their honey biscuits are really delicious. They also serve boudin balls, which gives customers a taste of Cajun cooking.

As soon as a customer walks in the door, they are met with southern hospitality from the cashier ready to take their order. Service at Roscoe’s is quick too.

Roscoe’s is locally owned, so eating there supports Monticello’s local businesses and economy.
