Basic Computer Skills, Facebook Essentials Are Topics Of Community Education Courses

tv_News 10dbMONTICELLO — Classes in basic computer skills and Facebook essentials are being offered as part of the University of Arkansas Monticello’s non-credit Community Education program during the month of May.

   The Basic Computer Skills class is designed for beginning computer users.  The course will cover elementary computing concepts, including use of the mouse, cursor, desktop and taskbar.  Students will also be introduced to web basics, browsing and email.  The class will meet Tuesday, May 28 from 6-8 p.m. in the Babin Business Center Room 122.  Cost of the class is $30.

   Facebook Essentials will provide students an opportunity to learn the basics of Facebook, including practical tips to insure that personal information and pictures are secure.

   “Facebook is a great way to keep up with friends, family, businesses, and organizations that you support,” said Memorie Dickson, program coordinator.  “This class will cover what you need to know to keep your Facebook experience safe and fun.”

  The class will meet Wednesday, May 29 from 6-8 p.m. in the Babin Business Center room 122.  The fee for this course is $25.
