tv_buzzworthy 10dbMONTICELLO-The Student Social Work Association held a meeting April 9 at 12:30 p.m. to decide on a new secretary and discuss the upcoming Special Olympics.

Vice President Kayley Williams conducted the meeting which began by discussing the duties of the secretary and nominating members for the position. The secretary is responsible for taking minutes of every meeting, taking notes of every meeting and being the third signature on the checking account in case one of the needed two are not available. Alex Black, Elnora Ingram and Jessica Coble were put up for nomination. After a blind vote Jessica Coble received the position.

Treasurer Sheila Naron is responsible for getting a list of people who will be attending the Special Olympics Area 12 Track Meet April 20. The event is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. and continue until sometime in the early afternoon. Members of the association will be wearing their SSWA shirts.

The SSWA will most likely not be doing any more fundraisers throughout the remainder of the spring semester but may try to do different fundraisers through summer. The next scheduled meeting was not set in stone but may take place during the first week of May pending finals week schedule. “We will readdress that,” said president Rex Davis.
