Forge Named D2 Bulletin All-America Honorable Mention

tv_sports 10dbMONTICELLO — University of Arkansas at Monticello senior men’s basketball player Kori Forge has been named an honorable mention selection to the 2013 Division II Bulletin All-America teams.

   This honor culminates his two-year career at UAM after most recently being named the 2012-13 Great American Conference Player of the Year and first team all-conference honoree. He also landed a spot on Daktronics All-Central Region First Team.

   Forge recently ended his final collegiate season as the leading scorer in the Great American Conference, totaling 531 points throughout 27 games for an average of 19.7 points per outing. He ended the regular season ranked 27th in all of NCAA Division II and fourth in the Central region in scoring.

   The Atlanta, Ga. native reached double-digits in 26 of 27 games this season, including 13 games of at least 20 points and three games of at least 30 points. He scored his career-high of 36 points this season in a win over Southwest Baptist at home on December 17.

   Forge became the 25th edition to UAM’s 1,000-point club on Feb. 28 in an overtime loss to Southern Arkansas. He was the first player to reach the milestone in the two-year history of the Great American Conference. He ended his career with a total of 1,046 points, which ranks 21st all-time at UAM.
