tv_sports 10dbMONTICELLO — In an attempt to avoid any additional cancellations to the 2013 schedule, the University of Arkansas-Monticello’s and Henderson State University softball teams have received approval from the Great American Conference to move its four-game league series up to Thursday and Friday instead of Friday and Saturday.

The four-game series starts with a double header today at 1 p.m. at Dee White Field in Arkadelphia. The series concludes on Friday with another double-header at 1 p.m. Live stats will be available at the following link: http://www.sidearmstats.com/henderson/softball/scoreboard.aspx, courtesy of the HSU athletics department.

UAM enters the series with an overall record of 18-14 and a 5-5 record in GAC games. UAM has had 10 conference games cancelled due to weather this season, including most recently last weekend’s four-game series at home against Ouachita Baptist. HSU is 15-17 overall and 9-7 in the league. The Lady Reddies have had to cancel four conference games this year due to weather.
