MONTICELLO-Four nursing students from the University of Arkansas-Monticello School of Nursing will be inducted into Sigma Theta Tau Gamma Xi Chapter Feb. 23. Sigma Theta Tau is an international honor society.

The inductees are Alisha Dickinson, a senior from Monticello; Tara Green, a senior from Warren; Levi Maggard, a senior from Banks and Kendal Wilson, a senior from McGehee. The requirements for induction into Gamma Xi include being a future leader in nursing, scholars and a 3.0 in their nursing classes.

“Gamma Xi broadens our horizons. It helps us further our education and careers,” said Dickinson. These students feel honored to be recognized for their hard work before and during nursing school. It means someone noticed all the hard work they put into their education.

The group’s advice for future nursing students: always study, work hard, do not give up and do not settle. “It’ll pay off in the end,” said Maggard.

Gamma Xi is made up of students from Henderson, Southern Arkansas University-Magnolia, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, University of Arkansas at Monticello and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
