New Food Services Director Comes From Diverse Background

tv_News 10dbMONTICELLO – A new food services director comes to the University of Arkansas at Monticello from a very diverse background.

   Elson Rivera replaces Anthony Howell, who served as interim director for the past three months.

   Rivera brings experience in higher education contract food service management, correctional contract food service management and business services contract food service management. Rivera has worked in the hospitality industry for the past 26 years as either a food service director/general manager, or executive chef. Schools that Rivera served at over the years include Odessa College, University of Texas Pan American, Western New Mexico University and Santa Clara University.

   Rivera attended the School of Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales College in Providence, R.I., and has also taken several continuing education courses at the CIA in Hyde Park, N.Y.
